The three main functions of a frame are to display, enhance and protect your artwork, memorabilia etc. At Picturemark Framing we take all these factors into consideration when designing and creating a beautiful and appropriate frame for your home or business environment. We take pride in presenting you with a product you will be genuinely excited about and happy to hang on your wall. We stand behind every product we make and guarantee the quality of materials and workmanship will be nothing short of first class.
To Display and Enhance:
The very definition of the term ‘Custom Framing’ is to denote that the design is completely unique, a one off, and made to your request.
The frame should enhance and help show the art to its best but not overpower or steal the attention from the art.
As a valued customer you can have as much or as little input to the design of your frame as you wish. We can follow your absolute plans and build something to your exact criteria, or you can leave the total design up to us. Or we can meet somewhere in the middle with a collaborative approach to design.
There are literally thousands of choices when it comes to moulding, mat colours, mounting styles, glazing options etc.
It is only limited by your imagination. We are aware that sometimes this can be a daunting prospect, but fear not – we are here to help. Years of experience, skill, and staying observant of current trends and décor styles enables us to offer these ideas and suggestions in helping you make the best possible choice for your frame design.
Preservation and Conservation are two very important areas of custom picture framing. For the ongoing protection of your treasured, valuable (be that monetary or emotional) works of art we use only the highest quality acid-free conservation grade materials and methods exclusively in this type of framing.
In relation to the above, I am a CPF ‘Certified Picture Framer’ ®
This means I am trained, skilled, experienced and qualified to the industry standards set by the board of the PPFA [Professional Picture Framer’s Association]. I am an active member of the PPFA and regularly attend training courses, seminars, conferences, exhibitions etc. to stay up to date with new techniques, practices and innovations within our industry.
I am also an ‘Approved Preservation Framer’, qualified and conversant in the skills, methods and techniques used in preservation framing. The knowledge and skillset for this level of framing are also gained through ongoing training and experience. This is also an industry standard set by the board of the CHPF (Cultural Heritage Preservation Foundation).
